Part genealogical detective story and part comical meditation on family and identity, Thank You For Coming is a feature documentary that tells the story of one woman’s journey to find her biological father after learning at age 29 she was donor-conceived.

The film premiered to a packed theater at the LA Film Festival and has screened at festivals across the country—including at the DOC NYC Film Fest and Woodstock Film Festival.

what people are saying

“Genealogists will recognize Sara’s story. She examines the process of tracking relatives through DNA with a humor & optimism. This film will inspire anyone seeking to break down their genealogy brick wall.”

-- Benjamin Hollister, professional genealogist

“As someone who works in the realm of the intimate, personal narrative, I love that you told this story. So much of the search for meaning and connection happens in private spaces. You let us in.”

-- Andrea, Marriage & Family Therapist

"After watching your film, I realized that no one really knows what family looks like. The more we can let go of what we think it should look like, the more likely it is that we will find people to love and trust.”

-- Connie, mother of two
